United Nations Sustainability Entrepreneurship Short Course: 1st Cohort
Last week, we launched the United Nations Sustainability Entrepreneurship Short Course! Our goal with this course is to create a nurturing space and provide tools for those eager to use their passion, dreams, and knowledge to impact their communities with their ingenuity. We are extremely grateful and honored to have a fantastic group of 10 participants from the Pacific Islands and beyond, along with four incredible guest speakers during the course Tiffany Huynh, Jeff Mikulina, Donavan Kealoha, and Kelly King. We look forward to learning from each one of you and being inspired by your courage and boldness in redesigning the world.
This initiative is part of a broader effort funded by the Minority Business Development Administration, which supports a $900,000 grant program at Chaminade University of Honolulu aimed at developing sustainability entrepreneurs. Led by Principal Investigator Dr. Helen Turner, the ‘Īnana Innovators Program offers a variety of opportunities to spark entrepreneurship and develop tech solutions for sustainability challenges in Hawai`i and the Pacific region. Along with the new two-course Sustainability Entrepreneurship sequence and paid internships, ‘Īnana has facilitated the development of a short course certification offered in partnership with our United Nations CIFAL Center of Honolulu and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) global training catalog. Participants include undergraduates and working professionals, primarily from the Pacific region. The MBDA award is DOC hashtag#MB22OBD8020275, 2022-25.
