Celebrating Our First Cohort: Summer 2023
We are very proud of the seven incredible students who worked for 10 weeks this summer on their sustainable innovations and projects. Three of them, whom we call the "Creators," developed their own innovations: CULTIVATE 808 by Carly Wieczorek (Environmental Sciences)’ MOOD ROBOT by Waioli Misajon (Psychology Counseling). The other six students partnered with local organizations as "Interns" to learn, develop their professional skills, and work on their own projects to support the Sustainable Development Goals. Their respective projects were: GENDER EQUITY THROUHG MĀLAMA MAI by Aleeyah Lemons (Environmental Science), ENGINEERING CAMPUS SPACE by Elizabeth Maciejewski (Nursing), THE MAKAI CLASSROOM by Randrielle Yola (Forensic Science), PILINA by Jasmine Mondelo (Accounting). We are thankful to Mai Movement, Hawaii Nature Center, and HealthTechApps for hosting our students this summer!
