Carly Wieczorek's Sustainable Hydroponic Project

One of our ‘Īnana Creators, Carly Wieczorek, an Environmental Sciences undergraduate student, set the exciting goal of learning and building a hydroponic system tailored for schools and hospitals' rooftops.

This system aims to provide nutritious and affordable produce as a sustainable entrepreneurial venture. To deepen her knowledge on the topic, Carly had the opportunity to visit and discuss her project with Jensen Uyeda, Extension and Outreach Associate at the University of Hawaii’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR), and Kai Fox, Aquaculture Extension Specialist at the University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program.

We are grateful to Jensen and Kai for their time and for allowing our student to learn about their initiatives!
