Riding the Waves of Innovation: Madison Makishima's Surfboard Vision
Our wonderful student Madison Makishima was one of the select students chosen to become a creator for the 1st ‘Īnana Cohort of our program. She proposed the ambitious idea of researching the possibility of using ocean microplastics to create adaptive surfboards.
To start her journey, Madison visited the Parley Station at Bishop Museum to learn more about their efforts and microplastic usability.
Madison has a long journey ahead of her, but her passion for surfing and the ocean is the driving force that keeps her moving forward. We are extremely excited to see where she will take this noble vision.
